The Gospel of Luke

Read through the book of Luke. There are no reading questions this week. However, there is an assignment that concentrates on 3 specific parables in Luke. This assignment helps in understanding how to read the parables.

Memory Verse:
Luke 9:23-24 (NIV)
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it."

Luke 9:23-24 (ESV)

23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

This passage reminds people then and now of the cost of following Jesus as his disciple.
